65th Newport-Ensenada Yacht Race

From April 27th to 29th it is going to be held the 65th Newport-Ensenada Yacht Race, a traditional event that kids and grownups enjoy. This event started on 1947 with the organization of a just for fun race, then 65 from 117 registered boats finished in our beautiful port the first 125 nautical miles race on April 23rd, 1948. As the time passed by this race gained popularity attracting all kind of people, beginners, experts and celebrities like the movie producer Milton Bren or the actors Buddy Ebsen and Humphrey Bogart.
This year the race activities will start on April 22nd with the N2E Race Launch Party at Newport Harbor Nautical Museum, then on April 27th at 11:00 a.m. the boats will start they journey to Ensenada and finally on April 29th the winners will be announced in the award ceremony.
For the first time Hotel Coral & Marina is the headquarters of the yacht race and we will celebrate with a welcome party for the participants and its families this upcoming April 28th. We will held a tribute-concert to “The Beatles” by Abbey Road, this event will also include a food festival in which will be present famous dishes that you must taste while you are visiting Ensenada like fish tacos, the traditional Mexican churros, carne asada and many others.
We want that locals enjoy this traditional event as the participants do, so we invite you to experience the great show of Abbey Road and admire the amazing spectacle made when the boats arrive to the port… Let’s live together another unique experience in Ensenada!
